The design for this medium diameter cowl was inspired by Thailand, from the silk yarn to the elephants and temple roofs incorporated in the pattern.

This is a pretty straightforward knit in the round and basic lace knitting skills are all that’s required!

I chose a Manos Silk Blend yarn for the tonal variations of this hand-dyed yarn, and its luxurious feel. The DK weight provides stability to the design, good stitch definition, and plenty of warmth (it’s 70% merino).

Knit on a US 6/4.0mm circular needle, the overall dimensions are 13.5 inches/34cm high; 36 inches/92cm in diameter.

The third photo shows this knit with a 4-ply merino and bamboo blend.
