Welcome to The 24 Days of Mystery Sock Ornaments Knit Along! This knit along was inspired by the tradition of advent calendars leading up to Christmas Day. This holiday tradition allows the receiver to open up a new gift each day from December 1 - December 24 revealing a surprise inside. Your advent surprise, beginning on December 1, will be a different sock ornament pattern for you to knit up and hang on your tree! Just check your email each morning to find your daily pattern! You can also check your Ravelry library for an update to this pattern. Each update will reveal a new sock ornament pattern!

You may have purchased a yarn advent calendar from a yarn company this year which means you will have a new mini skein to open each day. Now you will have a project to accompany your little skein of happiness after you open it! You can use the color you open that day to knit your daily sock ornament, or you can mix and match them as you go!

If you didn’t purchase an advent calendar this year, that’s okay too! Just use yarn you already have and knit up a new sock each day! The important thing to remember is that you are here for the adventure.

The patterns included each day will all be different and may include different techniques and skills. These will all be explained in the pattern and will be beginner/intermediate friendly. If you come across a pattern that seems too difficult or unfamiliar, feel free to skip it and make another sock using a previous day’s pattern or just make a plain, vanilla sock.

These patterns are written for cuff-down socks and uses either double pointed needles or magic loop method. You will also use more than one heel type when knitting these little gems. You can mix and match which heel to use for each pattern, that shouldn’t be hard to do.

Thank you for joining and I hope you enjoy! Here we go!!
