This mosaic design pays homage to The Greatest Spectacle in Racing - The Indianapolis 500. This has been designed as part of the City of Indianapolis 2012 Super Bowl Super Scarfs progam to create scarves for 8,000 volunteers who will be supporting the event.

The scarf features 33 Indy Cars, arranged in the traditional starting grid of 11 rows of 3 cars each. Each row is separated by a row of checkered flags. This scarf is knit using slipped stitches – an easy technique that creates textured, two-color results while knitting with only one color at a time.

Skills: Cast on, knit, slip stitches purlwise, bind off.
