This pattern requires two colors of Berroco Ultra Alpaca yarn, one skein each, but you will have a little left over of each color. This is a perfect for a novice knitter who’s interested in practicing color striping, seaming, and weaving in ends, or for a pro who might be looking for a project that requires a bit less brainpower.

  1. CO 50 sts in Color A
  2. Work 128 sts in Color A, in garter stitch (knit every row)
  3. Let Color A drop, but don’t cut. Begin knitting with Color B, leaving a 6” tail.
  4. Alternate from color A to B every two rows, carrying each strand up the side of the project.
  5. Once you’ve got 22 stripes of A, drop A and cut, leaving a 6” tail.
  6. Knit the next two rows in B, then begin seed stitch.
  7. Work 106 rows of seed stitch in B and then BO (bind off).
  8. Seam the last row to the first using the darning needle and blanket stitch. Use the darning needle to weave the rest of the loose ends in.
