The Arcata Hat was inspired by its namesake that is nestled among the lush Redwood forests and rolling hills of Northern California. Home to Humboldt State University, Seattle like weather, this quaint town is framed by the lush evergreen forest and a quiet beach. Here you will find an adorable town square that is always busy with local farmers markets and celebrations. Cold foggy mornings will need a hat like this.

The Arcata hat has a leaf cable pattern on it designed to resemble the ferns that can be found in the surrounding Redwoods. This unique cable pattern encompasses the hat. The instructions for the cable are charted and written out. One unique feature of this pattern is the cables are sometimes worked with knit through the back loops. By knitting through the back loops, this causes the leaf pattern to be more defined. Be sure to pay attention to the loop design that overlays on the cable stitch.

The hat is one size fits most. To adjust the size of the hat, adjust the size of needles you will use.
