“I found it is the small things, everyday deeds of ordinary folk, that keep the darkness at bay, simple acts of kindness and love.” — Gandalf, The Hobbit

A scarf for Bagginshield Fans / Thilbo Fans (aka people who ship Bilbo Baggins and Thorin Oakenshield from The Hobbit)

Important Note: This wouldn’t exist without Kathrina Cox’s Celtic Oaks (Found Here On Ravelry) and Jennifer Leith’s Celtic Alphabet (Found Here On Ravelry)

You can download this pattern from google docs here.

On the last page of the pattern you will find charts so that you can double knit the names section – specifically so that each end of the scarf will have “Bilbo” written on one side and “Thorin” written on the other and there will be no mirror image letters!

Double knitting is not very hard and produces a very nice effect where the colors are reversed on each side, as you can see in the pictures above

Here is a helpful video about how to double knit.

My scarf came out about 14.5 inches wide and 62.5 inches long, which was using Size 7 knitting needles.
