This pattern includes four easy to read charts that can be printed and then taped together.

The well known and well loved Beatles have been a favorite in our family from before I was even born. My parents still enjoy listening to their timeless songs and now my kids also enjoy them! If you also love The Beatles, and like to make knitted items with this theme, you’ll love making this double knit, completely reversible blanket. The graphics are inspired by the covers of three of The Beatles most popular albums.
Across the top of the blanket, they are jumping as on the Album Cover for Twist and Shout. In the middle, their Help! Album Cover is depicted. And across the bottom, they are walking across Abbey Road.

You can use the colors as shown, or you can choose your own favorite contrasting colors. I used a bulky acrylic yarn made by KnitPal called “Ombre Encore” that has a fluffy core inside a fine, shiny mesh, creating a very soft, warm and pleasantly heavy blanket.
You may choose another yarn, as long as it is a bulky weight yarn. The gauge is not extremely important since this is not a fitted garment, but the size of the blanket and the amount of yarn needed will depend on the size of your yarn and needles. I chose a bulky weight yarn so that the blanket would be a standard throw size of 50” x 60”.

There is a special technique used for the edges, so you will have finished, beautiful edges without having to add anything to the body of the blanket. At the end of each row, the last two stitches (front and back) are slipped. There is a link to a video tutorial for this technique included in the pattern.

You’ll also find a link to a video tutorial on how to cast on and bind off invisibly with two colors so you get a finished look to your beginning and ending edges!
