This is a classic cables mitten warm enough for Wisconsin winters. Pattern uses double strand yarn for extra warmth and structure. It’s a must have for winter fun!

Written in standard US terms. Materials needed:
Berocco Vintage (or any worsted weight yarn)
US 7/4.5 double pointed needles
US 8/5.0 double pointed needles
Darning needle

You will be knitting with two strands for this pattern. I like to have my hank wound into a nice flat “cake” so that I can pull from both the center as well as the outside simultaneously. This has made for tangle-free knitting.

If you divide your stitches so that you end one needle and start a new needle in the middle of the K10 of the cable pattern, you will not need a cable needle to work the C10B. When you get to the first 5 stitches of the C10B, stop knitting. These are the last 5 stitches on your right hand needle. Place this needle to the back. Take a new needle and knit the first 5 stitches from the next working needle. Move the 5 stitches from the needle in back onto the left hand working needle, knit those 5 stitches and continue knitting in pattern.

Happy knitting!
