NOTE: Gauge was taken after the cardi was washed and blocked. Gauge isn’t all that important with this project as the increases allow for a customized fit.

NOTIONS:

  • scrap yarn (to hold sleeve stitches while working on the body)
  • 4 stitchmarkers
  • 4-6 3/4” buttons (depends on how long you knit the body, I knit for 5” and used only 4 buttons)
  • scissors
  • darning needle to weave in ends and close up the small hole in the underarm area of the sleeves.

The Cali Cardi

We all know it never snows and rarely rains in California, but what about those balmy/not-quite chilly nights when a gal wants to be stylish and keep her core warm?

What’s the perfect cover-up of 100% wool that’s quick to knit and fantastic for wearing out on the town over a cute tank/tube top?

This one! ^_^

The Cali Cardi is the perfect marriage of the Modesty (Boobholder) Mini-Sweater and The Anthropologie Inspired-Capelet in that it covers up the chest area (like the boobholder) and is super quick to knit (like the capelet). I used just under 2 skeins of Cascade 109 to knit up the sample (which is what I would guesstimate to be a small, fits up to a 33” bust, a full-figured bust).

Cropped just below the bust line, this chunky cardigan knits up quick to keep up with the life of a big city gal, is stylish (cropped is all the rage), keeps ya warm while running from nightclub to nightclub, and still allows your cute tank/tube top to shine through and “preserve the sexy” (Diddy quote) with the flick of a button.

Pattern is available NOW! Whoot-whoot! ^_^
