The Cast Off Sweater

Fingering / 4 ply (14 wpi) ?
16 stitches and 25 rows = 4 inches in Stockinette Stitch using larger needles
US 7 - 4.5 mm
US 10½ - 6.5 mm
558 - 580 yards (510 - 530 m)
To fit 36" bust, but is a knit-to-your-own-size garment

From the book: “The unusual netlike stitch used in this garment looks as if it couldn’t possibly be knitted. It grew out of experiments with creating a loose bind-off (cast-off)… The resulting fabric has lines of twisted stitches separated by a single horizontal line. Knitted loosely, it looks like open drapey netting. Knitted more tightly, it looks woven.”

Note: This pattern requires both size needles to be circular needles. A gauge swatch is an essential first step to determining finished size of garment.
