Based on the Novel Divergent by Veronic Roth

Divergent takes place in a dystopian future Chicago where citizens are divided into five factions, each one focused on cultivating a different personality trait.

The Choosing Ceremony is a ceremonial day that happens each year at The Hub. Participants are sixteen years of age and must choose one of the five factions (Abnegation for selflessness, Amity for peace, Candor for truth, Dauntless for bravery, and Erudite for Knowledge) their Aptitude Test result or born-faction being the most likely choice. If they choose a new faction, they will then become a new initiate of that faction.

Divergence is the tendency to diverge from the norm which is, in the case of the novel, the mindset and way of thinking the factions are meant for. If a participant gets a result of multiple factions from the results of your aptitude test, the participant is considered Divergent.

This sock is designed based off of Beatrice “Tris” Prior, the main protagonist and narrator of the Divergent series. She is a strong-willed, Abnigation born, 16 year old that has to face the fact that she is Divergent. The sock ‘changes’ from working flat to in the round and can be folded over and used as a boot topper if desired. It has strong lines and contours to mirror her strength, but a lace detail to show her soft side.

Designed for a 716knit yarn club.
