Knit almost exclusively in morse stitch (except for the three stitches at each edge) to create a dense fabric that keeps out the winter chill, this cowl is really snug and warm – and reversible. It is very simple to knit having an easily-memorised two row repeat and is therefore an ideal ‘pick-up-and-put-down’ project that lends itself to chatting, TV viewing, commuting, etc., particularly as it is knit flat and seamed/ grafted at the end.

This cowl could be knit in any yarn weight from sport to bulky (just remember to adjust the yardage accordingly).

This pattern is complementary to all purchasers of Morse Stitch Decoded.

Erratum

The word ‘then’ should be inserted before ‘morse 1’ on row 1 and before ‘K2 tog’ on row 2. In other words, apart from the edge stitches, the whole of each row is worked in morse stitch.
