When I finished my Roar! Hat, using one strand of DK and one strand of mohair held together - I had so much yarn left over that I just had to do something with it!

And when this delicious little bit of fluff was finished, I asked my daughter what to call it - and she said ‘it looks like cotton candy’ - so here we are!

If you like, you can make this cowl, and the Roar! hat out of one skein of DK and one skein of mohair.

It’s one size, if you choose NOT to use some of the yarn for the hat, then you could make your cowl taller. It winds two or three times around my neck, so you can have two different styles.

Row height is not really critical, you can do a lot with blocking.

It just takes one skein of the DK and one of mohair - but I did hold the mohair double, pulling from the inside and the outside of the wound cake at the same time. This is a very robust mohair, I am NOT usually a mohair person, but I found this really easy to work with, and the cake didn’t snarl even once! IF you find yourself needing to pull out some work, or if you find the mohair isn’t behaving - a short time in the freezer (yes, I really did say that!) will make it behave much better!

From now til Jan 31st 2010 - buy Roar! and The Cotton Candy Cowl for just $6 (usually $4 each) - since you can knit both with one skein of DK and one skein of mohair, why not do it? No coupon needed, just put them both in your cart.
