This long-line cardigan is full of flattering details. A soft tulip shape skims neatly over the bust and gently flares around the hips, giving a comfortable fit without bulkiness. A pretty band across the back gives a lovely shape to the waist and the cabled deep hems on the body of the cardigan and sleeves, draws attention to the slimmest parts of the arms and legs. The button fastening and scooped collar are designed to further enhance your best features…..

Beautifully warm in an Aran/worsted weight yarn and pretty over dresses or jeans….you may very well have to make more than just the one.
The example pictured is in lovely soft grey and turquoise tones but the sky really is the limit with this design. It would be fabulous in dramatic black and dipped with red or in two tones of green or blue…..

Designed with positive ease, the cardigan will suit a variety of sizes. from the very slim where it will skim over you like a lovely opera coat, to the more bountiful where it will flatter your beautiful curves…experienced knitters will easily be able to adjust for the perfect fit.

Method:
The Dipped Tulip is worked from the top down, starting with the yoke area. The fronts and back are worked at the same time, back and forth in rows, turning after every row. Stitches are put aside for the sleeves and the main body of the cardigan is continued in rows. The sleeves sts are then placed back onto your needles and worked in the round, using the magic loop method. Stitches are then picked up along the front edges and the banding and neckline is worked. This method means there is no seaming or sewing to do apart from folding over the collar, weaving in the few tails and attaching buttons.
