The Double Rainbow Hat is a quick and easy genderless design made to show off the fun properties of space-dyed yarn, especially the rainbow magic of our shop-exclusive colorway from The Lemonade Shop. Wear it as a right-side out slouchy hat to show off the rainbow bits and a 3x1 ribbed hem detail, or turn it inside out and/or fold the brim to show off a different ribbing style and a body texture full of double rainbows!

Difficulty Level:
Beginner. Skills required are casting on, knit & purl stitches, working in the round, and decreasing.

Sizes:
Head Circumference: Adult Small/Teen 16” (Adult Medium 18”, Adult Large 20”, Adult XL 22”)
The hat is designed to have 1-2 inches of negative ease.

Yarn:
The Lemonade Shop DK weight yarn, 1 skein
Shown in Sparkle DK (75% Superwash Merino/20% Nylon/5% Stellina) in colorway “Don’t be a dick” (ecru) and in Classic DK (100% Superwash Merino) in colorway “Bad Day” (grey).
Both yarns have 231 yards/ 211 meters in a 100g skein.
Or use one skein (231 yards/100g) of space-dyed DK weight wool yarn.

Needles:
US Size 5 (3.5mm) and 6 (4mm) 16” circular needles and*
US Size 6 (4mm) DPN’s, or size needed to obtain gauge
If you wish to make this hat using magic loop instead, you will need US Size 5 (3.5mm) and 6 (4mm), 32-40” circular needles.

Notions:
4 stitch markers and a tapestry needle

24 sts and 28 rows over 4” x 4” / 10cm x10cm in stockinette using larger needles
