Terry Pratchett, The Light Fantastic

The Far Side of Darkness is a cuff down cabled sock with a patterned fleegle/strong heel. Instructions are charted and come in 5 sizes: XS (S, M, L, XL) with cast on numbers of 64 (68 72, 76, 80). Upper leg circumference after blocking should be approximately 18 (19, 20, 21, 22) cm or 7 (7.5, 7.9, 8.25, 8.7) inches with about 5cm/2 inches of stretch. Height of leg above heel is roughly 16.5cm/6.5 inches. Foot length and width are fully adjustable. There are two instep options.

Note: large sized and/or long-footed socks may require more than 100g of yarn.
