Everyone has one… right? The sort of project that you can simply relax with. It has your favourite yarn, needles you love, and practically knits itself. For me, I often go with this beanie. There is something so comforting about knitting something with the intention of simply keeping someone warm.

This hat was originally knit for an 8 year old girl, but can be adapted by changing the needle sizes, and altering the yarn weight accordingly. If it doesn’t quite fit on the first try, consider donating it to a head that it does fit.

A wee prompt for those New Zealand knitters… Christchurch school-kids heads are going to be a bit chilly this winter with so many living in damaged homes… Perhaps a few of these might find their way there?
