This is my contribution to the #knitterspayitforward “movement”.
After seeing such an outpouring of support and generosity from so many knitters I knew I also had to do my part to keep giving to this extraordinary community.

The Giving Beanie is at its core a simple beanie, the yarns that you chose will give it its personality. It is a great project for knitting with friends, keeping your hands busy during a good movie, or just relaxing with your thoughts.

size is given for an average women adult.
For different sizes, change the weight of the yarn and the size of the needles.
Yowza knits up a bit more like a light worsted for me. I would suggest going with a heavy worsted or Aran weight yarn and US#8 needles for an adult medium/large size.

The blue and white version with red accents is knit in Cascade 220 and Rowan pure wool worsted. Using #8 5mm needles. Gauge is 18sts = 4”/10cm. Fits size 20”-22”. ~ more details available on the project page.

Knit in 2 colors, this hat is great for using up partial skeins.
It requires ~ 125 yds of the main color (including the brim) and ~ 100 yds of the second color. Alternatively, you could also knit it up in a single color and it would look just as good.
