The Helios Crochet Bucket Hat pattern is written in UK and US crochet terms; with both included with your purchase. This is a fun pattern that’s just perfect for the summer months! I have included instructions for three different granny square options, or you can use your own! The pattern is written for adult sizing with suggestions for making in baby sizes too! There are also options for completing with a longer or shorter brim and how to’s on how to reinforce depending on the look you’re after with video tutorials throughout.

Skill Level ~
Adventurous beginner. There are written, picture and video tutorials to ensure success every step of the way.

Method ~
The Helios Hat is worked in three separate components: the crown, the band and the brim.

The Crown:

The crown is worked first and with RS facing throughout. Staggered increases are made on every rnd; this ensures a nice, smooth circle is created without unsightly “points”. Once completed, the crown is then set aside until the band and brim are complete and then joined to the band.

The Band:

The band is made up of six granny squares and you can choose from three different styles. The granny squares are joined to form the band, using the join-as-you-go method.

The Brim:

After the band is completed, the brim is made by working into the band. Then increases are made on every even round. The instructions result in a brim that measures approximately 6 cm/2.5”, and rounds can be added or subtracted to create a brim that is longer or shorter.

Size ~
to fit an average adult head circumference of 56 cm/22” with very little negative ease.
