Pattern Notes:
The Honey Fyn Vest is a fitted v-neck tank/vest made in two pieces from the bottom-up in honeycomb brioche stitch. Once seamed together, stitches are then picked up for the armholes and neckline and worked in rib. The ribbing is then folded over and sewn in place for a more finished look. Sizing up will provide a looser vest for layering. I called this garment the Honey Fyn Vest because of the honeycomb brioche stitch and because I designed the garment over the summer while I was visiting my parents on the island Fyn in Denmark.

Choosing your Size:

Sizing is based on the fitted vest version. Choose your size based on the guidelines below. If your bust measurement is between….

XXS - 68.5-73.5 cm (27-29 inches)
XS - 73.5-79 cm (29-31 inches)
S - 81-85 cm (32-34 inches)
M - 89-94 cm (35-38 inches)
L - 99-106 cm (39-42 inches)
XL - 109-114 cm (42-45 inches)
2XL - 116-124 cm (46-49 inches)
3XL - 127-134 cm (50-53 inches)

The garment is designed to have approximately 2.5-6 cm (1-2.5 inches) negative ease.

Sizing help:

If working with cotton and your gauge swatch has a lot of stretch to it: Size down for a fitted vest. Size up 1 for a looser fit.

If your gauge swatch is not as stretchy: Stay true to size for a fitted vest. Size up 2 for a looser fit.

Yarn:
Any DK weight yarn that can match the required gauge.

Note: The yarn approximations are for a single-colored vest. If you plan on making the ribbing a separate color you will need approx. 100-175 meters of that color.

XXS - 520 meters
XS - 540 meters
S - 575 meters
M - 600 meters
L - 675 meters
XL - 725 meters
2XL - 775 meters
3XL - 875 meters

Note:
If you desire a longer vest, it may be advisable to have 75-150 meters extra in yarn.

Gauge:
10 cm x 10 cm (4 inch X 4 inch)
18 stitches X 40 rows in honeycomb brioche pattern worked flat on 3.5 mm needles (CO, P WS row, then begin in pat on RS row).

It’s very important that the gauge is correct. Make sure you have about 1.8 stitches per cm (4.5 stitches per inch)

Needles:
3.5 mm circular needles with cord lengths of either 60 or 80 cm (24 or 30 inches). Magic loop can be used for neckline and armhole ribbing, otherwise, you will also need 3.5 mm circular needles with a 30 cm (12 inch) cord or 3.5 mm dpns.

Other Materials:
Scissors, darning needle, stitch markers, and measuring tape.
Optional: Safety pins to hold down ribbing when sewing it in place.
