This pattern evolved while I was struggling to come up with a meaningful gift for the Youth Instructor at my church, who was expecting her second child. My Dad gave me the idea to crochet a crucifix, but crocheting Jesus’ body in a beautiful and reverent way was beyond my skill. I then came up with the idea of crocheting His Sacred Heart.
