After seeing the “We Call Them Pirates” hat that I made for my brother, my father requested a hat of his own, but he wanted a different pattern. (Can’t have them match, after all - not cool) When he said he was planning to wear it for poker games, I decided to use that as the theme for the hat. The obvious choice to me was, of course, the suits in a standard deck of playing cards. I chose the heathered colors to make them a little subtler.

The name is an homage to my dear friend Ed. He simply cannot resist replying “Poke her? I hardly know her!” anytime someone mentions poker. So, we have the “I Hardly Know Her” Hat, designed and made for Dad, and named for Ed.

Also, thanks to Adrian Bizilia at Hello Yarn and Jared Flood at Brooklyntweed for inspiration in the form of their We Call Them Pirates and Red Light Special patterns, respectively.
