I adore knitting socks, especially 2 at a time and toe-up. My kids love them and I can’t make them fast enough! My answer is Kroy sock yarn. I personally find it to be thicker than fingering weight, more like a sport weight yarn. Using 3 mm needles, I can whip off socks for my appreciative kids (and even me) in no time flat. Add to that fact that Kroy is virtually indestructible, is inexpensive, and comes in some really great colourways that can appeal to kids and the young at heart. It’s a win/win/win! This is such a simple pattern, that you can be knitting at the soccer field, hockey rink, knitting group, or wherever you may be without being chained to a pattern or chart. I find I need a project like this on the needles for times when my attention is divided.
I have provided links in the pattern for casting on and casting off instructions on Youtube. This is my first free pattern, and I hope you enjoy it :).
