This pattern was inspired by a swatch I saw knit up from a vintage cable pattern. The pattern was designed by Cyril Cullen, an Irish knitwear designer. He created this cable design in the 1960’s when his knitwear patterns were being knit by home knitters to make extra income.

I’ve just been alerted to a couple of typos in the Cable Pattern:

First: Row 7 should read: (K2, P2, K2, P2, C4R, P2, K2, P2) four times total 18 st)

not (K2, P2, P2, K2, P2, C4R, P2, K2, P2)four times - total 20 st

Second: Abbreviations: C2R should be C4R.

Set-up Row should read: K2, P2, K3, M1, P4, M1, K3, P2
