The Little Prince Princess baby blanket is made up of knitted squares - either a single colour or with a crown motif in a contrasting colour. Choose your favourite colour combination to suit the baby!

Two sizes are given:

  • A cot or pram blanket at around 39 x 65 cm
  • A larger square blanket of 65 x 65 cm.

Gauge - using DK yarn and 4 mm needles each square measures 13 x 13 cm (approximately 5” x 5”). Gauge is not critical although the finished size of the blanket will vary if you knit tighter or looser than this.

The squares are knitted on 4 mm needles and you will need a tapestry needle for sewing up. If you wish, you can make the blanket in vertical strips - this cuts down on some of the sewing up.

Any washable DK weight yarn can be used. Each ball of the yarn we used in the samples made four squares with a little left over (you can use this to work the crown motif in the contrasting colour squares).

We hope you enjoy making the blanket for your Little Prince or Little Princess!

We do apologise but an eagle eyed knitter has noticed a mistake

Row 16 contains an error. It should read:

Yarn A (K1,p1)twice, k1, p6, yarn B p1, yarn A p5, yarn B p1, yarn A p6, k1, (p1,k1) twice.

So sorry if this row has puzzled anyone!
