This shawl is called The Mammoth for a reason! We live in Northern Alberta, Canada and our winters are long and cold. This shawl almost has the blanket feel when finished and will keep your lap nice and warm while you are knitting it.

The cables are a beautiful touch to an otherwise simple pattern of stockinette where the spine is a simple twist cable and the edging a little more complex, yet a very doable celtic cable.

Some notes to consider when choosing your materials:
This shawl will eventually get quite long and heavy so we suggest the longest cable that you can find to hold all of those stitches.

The pattern is written for a worsted weight yarn on a 5.5mm needle however, it is very easy to make smaller by using an aran, DK, or fingering weight yarn, choosing a needle that gives you a nice fabric and following the pattern as written.

The Mammoth looks stunning in any color! Choose your favorite solid, tweed, speckled or stripes… something that you will want to cozy up in this winter and cast on!!

Thank you for your support and we hope you love your Mammoth!
