This bootie was born out of the need for baby footwear that would be warm, cute, seamless, and stay put. I have made many of those cute strappy booties, but they never stayed on my kid’s feet, and the booties with ties are prone to be too tight for those delicate baby legs. I came up with my own version as part of a baby gift for my nephew. My sister-in-law said they were the only things that would stay on my nephew’s feet. You have my permission to sell booties made from this pattern.

The bootie is knit from the top down, and finished with a three needle bind-off.
