The Noelle Winter Hat is perfect for advanced beginners, or for beginners who are ready to challenge themselves a bit. It is sized for teens and women, and is trendy enough to appeal to both. The model hat was worked with one skein (198 yds) of Juniper Moon Farm’s Moonshine worsted weight yarn, divided into into two balls, and worked up with two strands held together on US size 10.5 (6.5 mm) knitting needles. If you prefer to use a chunky weight yarn instead, you will need about 120-135 yards and can knit with one strand only. Finishing includes directions for both the basic hat as shown, as well as a ponytail hat (see last photo), so you can choose your favorite style. Faux pearl buttons accent the headband portion of the hat creating a beautiful face frame, so work one up this weekend for the perfect holiday gift.
