2020 update - Pattern now has both a slouchy version and a beanie version!

Sometimes you just want a quick instant gratification project that you can finish in one evening. This hat is just that kind of project! (If you’re pretty fast, you can finish it in 2 hours or less!).

I’ve probably made about 50 of these hats already, but it wasn’t until I went to Copenhagen on a business trip during the winter that I saw many of the chic Copenhagen urbanites rocking similar hats, complete with awesome pompoms of course. This hat is named after Nørrebro, the suburb of Copenhagen where I saw (and semi-stalked, for pictures), a lady rocking a similar hat.

PS: This hat is also called “Everyone’s Hat”. This name is from a friend of mine who swears that this hat looks great on everyone, including her. It really is a pretty awesome unisex hat.

Gauge - I haven’t really measured gauge for this hat, but if you are usually a loose knitter, you tend to be even looser when knitting in the round, so use the US #9 and #11 for the hat.

If you are a tight knitter, use the US #11 and US #13 for your hat.
