My sister asked me to design her a pair of mismatched socks for her birthday. Upon seeing the first sock, she declared “these socks aren’t for someone with OCD!” and so they were named the OCDon’ts.

Both socks are knit toe up and feature cables and lace. Patterns are both written and charted.

The May sock, OCDo, can be knit as a mirror image pair.

UPDATE
The mismatch is a little too mismatched for me, so I’m adding a third pattern and extending the mystery for another month.

For those who want a really mismatched pair, you can combine May with either June or July.
For those who want a slightly mismatched pair, you can combine June and July.
For those who want mirror image socks, work one of each May.
For those who want completely identical socks, work two June or two July.

And if you have enough yarn…knit all three (or four), and decide each time you wear them how mismatched you want to be!

Due to the nature of the patterns, these socks work best in a solid or semi-solid.
