The owlery is in a seperate tower some distance from the castle. This hat shows the windows and the roof of that tower. One of the windows is open. And Hedwig, the beautiful white owl flies inside to bring a letter.

This hat is worked in the round. It will look best with two colors that have a lot of contrast.
The pattern is written and the colorwork is charted.

Yarn used for the hat shown:
40 g Regia Angora Merino in dark grey
30 g Regia Angora Merino in white

For this pattern it is assumed you know how to do a stretchy cast on, stranded knitting and reading charts. The stitches used are: knit, purl, knit two together and centered double decrease.
Pattern is written for circular needles, but DPN can be used.

Errata: On charts B and C, Row 34, Stitch 31 is shown as a dark stitch but must be knit as light stitch to maintain symmetry. (Thank you manoonan)
I’ll update these charts later.
