As shown, the pattern used 3 skeins of a DK weight in the main color and 1 skein of DK weight in the contrast. The photo features ties, but the instructions include directions for both with and without ties. HDC in the 3rd loop gives this a raised stitch that appears similar to knitting as well as adds texture to the overall appearance.

The pattern is suitable for beginners, requiring knowledge of hdc in the 3rd loop as well as front and back post treble.
