When I got back into knitting, I couldn’t find a satisfying and simple hat pattern, so I wrote my own. I aimed to create a versatile and adjustable pattern, and I hope you enjoy it!

I wanted to give you several options when making your hat, including various ribbing for the brim, different color choices, and several sizes.

An Extra Small will fit a head circumference of 20” or less, a Small will fit a cir. of 21”, a Medium will fit a cir. of 22”, a Large with fit a cir. of 23”, and an Extra Large will fit a cir. of 23” or more.
An Extra Small generally fits kids and teens, a Small fits teens and small women, a Medium fits most women and small men, a Large fits most men, and an Extra Large fits large men and people with very big heads.
I highly recommend measuring the recipient’s head, whether it be your own or someone else’s. When in doubt, a Medium tends to be a safe bet.

You can make it smaller to be more fitted, or longer for a slouchier or beanie-like hat.
