I designed this scarf to encourage people to try recycled sari silk yarn as it’s really lovely to work with and to wear, so this is a friendly tutorial rather than a strict pattern.

This is an extremely simple tutorial for a chain style scarf, made using just chain stitches and quadruple trebles (read quadruple doubles there if you use US terms)

You can make it as long or as short as you like, half a skein (50g) is good, but you can do whatever length you like, then join the ends to make an infinity scarf. Or Not. I’m not an ogre :)

gauge is not really important, and although I recommend an 8mm hook you may find you prefer one slightly larger or smaller-sari yarn can be slightly variable in thickness but is generally chunky/bulky.

Banana Yarn feels just like silk and can be used here instead of silk if you are a vegan (or just object to silkworm farming)

Both kinds of yarn, and blended varieties are available at link text
and the pattern comes free when you purchase yarn there :)
