This past year, I got my first dog. A Golden Retriever named Daniel. He has brought me an infinite amount of joy, but also a considerable amount of frustration. Yet, no matter how frustrated I get, the moment Daniel flashes his smile, that frustration melts away. (Well, for the most part.)
“The Smile’ is a DK weight, stranded colourwork hat that shows off just that, the smile I get from my dog each day. I’m sure all dog parents can agree, there is nothing else like seeing a smile on your pup’s face.

Sizing:

• This hat will for up to a 24” head circumference

Yarn Used:

• For this hat you will need 2 contrasting colours off a DK weight yarn. I used my favourite DK weight yarn, Sueno by Hikoo in #1102 - Caramel (Colour A, 100 yards) and #1133 Charcoal (Colour B, 80 yards)

Needles:

• 3.50mm and 4.00mm needles on a 16” cord, plus 4.00mm needle DPN’s, or 4.00mm needles on a 40” cord for Magic Loop

Gauge:

• 22 sts / 4” in Stockinette Stitch

Additional Materials Needed:

• 3 Stitch Markers, Scissors, Darning Needle
