A basic pattern for those who are able to knit, and want to knit their very first pair of adult socks, using the easiest method possible.

The pattern has been written for a 9 inch circular needle (but if you wish you can substitute this for magic loop or DPNs).

The pattern guides you through the casting on, ribbing, making a long tube of knitting with placements for afterthought heels and toes, and ending with the ribbing for the second sock.

Guidance given for knitting the afterthought heels and toes is given in the simplest way possible, together with handy hints, tips and photographs found in this 16 page booklet.
