The Sunderland design, with its cables and lace, can be knitted as a rectangular wrap, wider shawl or stole, as well as a wide scarf. The pattern has two slightly different options: a 4-stitch cabled version with center slipped stitching, and a 6-stitch wider cabled version without the center slipped stitching.

Skill Level: Advanced beginner/intermediate and above; knowledge of basic knit/purl stitches, slipped stitches, cables and lace (left/right slanting decreases and yarn overs) is needed.

Materials: 24-32” circular needle, cable needle, row counter, stitch markers and lifeline (suggested)

Instructions: The directions are both written and charted. Charts are color-coded to indicate the direction of the cables.

This contemporary wrap is great for all seasons as it’s not too frilly, yet very feminine. The Sunderland Scarf pattern resembles the 4-stitch cabled version of the wrap and is sold separately.
