I wanted to create some sort of head covering or scarf in the Not Just Plain Jane style; thus evolved a Trillium-type wimple which I named The Trymple – different, cozy, and, I think, very attractive and versatile. Pull it on over your jacket or coat as a hooded shawl/scarf that will not come unwound, tuck it inside your jacket for added warmth for your head and neck, or wear it as the perfect accessory for La Mariposa. Two different edgings and hood variations are included in the pattern. Trymple #1 (multicolor) features mitered points on the lower edge, and a mitered hood, full and cloak-like in shape, and trimmed with a rosebud border. Trymple #2 (directions begin on page 9) has a slanted leaf edging and an openwork hood which is more conventional in shape. Both hoods and lower edgings are interchangeable and can be used with the main body of the Trymple in either solid or multicolor. I hope you enjoy both making and wearing your Trymple!
