This pattern is available for free.

The Donkey Sanctuary in Sidmouth, UK are asking people to knit these, which they then sell in their shop and on the internet to raise funds for their charity. There are contact details on the website to request the pattern which they send you as a PDF.

According to the pattern a 50g ball of the main colour is enough for 2 donkeys. You also need small amounts of coloured yarn for the accessories.

They don’t mind what colours or textures of yarn you use, but you do need to make sure that you use the right polyester filling, that complies to the European EN 71 standard. The Woolleys need to be well stuffed, especially the legs as they need to be able to stand upright.

The money raised helps donkeys in need worldwide, not just in UK.

There may be a small error in the size of the saddle in the pattern.
