This is the first pattern I published at Ravelry - in 2012. The autumn 2018 I took a new look at the pattern and made a refreshed version: https://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/modern-zebra-ruf...

If you like stripes and ruffles this is the pattern for you! The shawl is a joy to knit and you will be amazed by all the different ways you can wear it. It is as beatuiful on both sides, and you can wear it as a scarf with a knot, like a shawl, tucked under your jacket, swept around your neck showing off the stripes in “circles”, worn with the edge turned down as a collar, making a turtleneck… Be inspired by my pictures, or find your own ways to wear it.
When I was knitting my version in black and natural (which is truly beautiful!) I dreamt up lots of other coloour-combinations; like dark and light blue, charcoal and feather grey, black and sand, camel and black, two different tones of green…. There are endless variations. The shawl grows fast on the needles, and even if it looks complicated it is not.
And of course you can use your favourite soft yarn as gauge is not too important as long as it not differs too much.
