Paisley is so hot right now. Really. I kept seeing all these beautiful paisley prints in shop windows and on fashionable bodies and I thought - “Why couldn’t I knit me some paisley somethings?” And then I thought - “Mittens, those somethings should be mittens!” And that’s that. I designed some paisley mittens.
The pattern has four charts: one paisley chart for each hand (the chart is reversed on the other hand), one for the palm, and one for the thumb gusset.
Size: Medium - 8” / 20.5 cm palm circumference as written. Going down or up in needle size (and therefore, gauge) will result in smaller or larger mittens.
Yarn: DROPS Alpaca; 100% Alpaca; 182 yards 166 m/1.76 oz 50 g
1 skeins of MC (2917 - Dark Turquoise)
1 skein of CC (1101 - Off White)
Needles: US# 1 (2.25 mm) Or size needed to obtain correct gauge - set of 5 DPN, long circular for magic loop, or 2 circulars
Notions: Tapestry needle
Gauge: 33 stitches and 33 rows / 4 inches 10 cm in chart pattern, blocked.
A huge thank you to Alana Marchetto for testing and editing!
