Structure:
Thimbleweed shawl is triangular and knitted neck-down. The shawl has both stockinette and lace sections. I inserted an Estonian flower motive to the last lace section. In the stockinette area increases are made with M1 and in the lace sections they are made by yarn overs which are incorporated in the pattern.

Difficulty level: Intermediate. One should have the basic knowledge about knitting lace and trianglular shawls. The lace parts have both written instructions and charts.

Size:47 cm x125 cm (18,5 x 49 inches)

Yarn:
Marks and Kattens fame (75 % superwash wool and 25 % polyamid, 100 g = ca. 400 m /430 yards) or any other similar fingering weight yarn. The total amount of yarn needed is approximately 320 yards. For the main color you need 230 -240 yards and for the second color 80-95 yards.

Recommended needle size:3,75 mm needles (US5)

Gauge: 19 stitches/10 cm. in stockinette stitch after blocking. Exact gauge is not important, but it affects on the size of the shawl. Using thicker yarn will give you looser gauge and bigger shawl. However, you will need more yarn if gauge is looser.
