I am doing a series called Mitten State Socks and this is one of them. There is so much talent in my home state of Michigan that I wanted to use the talented fiber artists to showcase my designs based on Michigan aka the mitten state.

I met Danielle from Iron Wheel Farms last year at the Ann Arbor Fiber Expo and immediately fell in love with her yarn and her story. Iron Wheel Farms is right in the middle of our mitten state so I thought it was a perfect choice for one of our socks. “We raise the sheep breed called Finnsheep or Finnish Landrace. They are a heritage breed that originated in Finland. We also do custom hay and hay sales. We bale over 10,000 small square bales and over 300 600 lb round bales a year. We are hoping to grow the operation over the next decade.” I think this yarn showcases Danielle’s talent as a fiber artist!

Thingamajigger is knit from cuff to toe with a leaf stitch, inverted gusset and standard toe. The stitch is easy and fun to complete! Both written and charted instructions are included.
