‘This way up’ is a cosy adult size beanie hat and scarf pattern made in worsted weight roving self striping yarn. The fun filet crochet chevrons point the way.

Skills
Knowledge of basic crochet stitches, techniques and terminology is assumed
The patterns involve working in rows and turned rounds, chainless foundation rows, simple increases, kipping stitches and working into chain spaces.

Sizing
The hat and scarf are one size and intended for adult use. The finished scarf measures 170cm / 68in long by 26cm/0.5in wide after a gentle blocking
The hat circumference is 51cm / 20.5in and the height is 26cm / 10.5in.

Materials
You will need 540m 600yds worsted weight yarn and a 5.5mm crochet hook or size needed to match gauge. The items pictured used 3 balls We Crochet Chroma Worsted, 70% Superwash Wool, in total. Shade Sandpiper (26474)
30% Nylon, 100g ball = 180m /198 yds in total.
The hat and scarf together used just under 3 balls in shade Sandpiper (26474)
The hat uses around 65g, 117m/130yds and the scarf used around 235g, 423m/466yds
