Designed specifically for the Outlander Kal/Cal using yarn from Shannah Harding of Honey Girl Farms in one of her Outlander inspired colorways. http://www.sheepandhoney.com/fiber

When you think of Scotland, you think of Thistles. This cowl is reminiscent of a field of thistles, utilizing puff stitches on the top half to represent the thistle heads, and a “thatched look” half double crochet for the bottom half to represent the stems

I design all my patterns for use with fine wool or animal fiber because blocking is always an important part of the design. You can use a synthetic, but fair warning, without blocking, the bottom “thatched” half will appear tighter than the top half.

EDIT there will be 9 stitches on the hook for the puff stitch, not the 8 previously indicted.
