This is a toe up sock with a bold braided cable down the front. The instructions are very detailed and contain lots of techniques that may be new to you - provisional cable cast on, yo short row toe, gusset and heel flap with eye of partridge pattern, calf shaping so you can achieve a custom fit and make them as tall as you have yarn for and a sewn bind off. There is no Kitchener grafting on this pattern. I’ve written it for two circular needles to make knitting the cable up the front easier but dpn’s are certainly possible. The cabling will go faster if you can work the cable without a cable needle. The beautiful thistle is worked on the back side of the calf.
