I designed and knit this cardigan in the throes of a tropical rainstorm as I dreamt of brighter days and lush gardens. The top-down raglan-shaped yoke features a simple-to-remember lacy stitch pattern that reminds me of tiny flower petals. The openwork fabric around the wide collar features an eyelet medallion, symbolizing the sun and a hope for it to reemerge soon. And the final outer edging is simple garter stitch but binds off with a delicate picot edging reminiscent of tiny buds.
