This is the second of my Enchanted Forest Shawls, inspired by Searching for Dragons, the second book in Patricia C. Wrede’s Enchanted Forest Chronicles. The shawl evokes the Enchanted Forest itself, with its towering trees, its moss-covered ground, and the invisible strands of magic that crisscross the forest.

The Threads of the Forest Shawl is rectangular, knitted from the long edge up. A narrow moss-stitch border frames alternating panels of trees and faggoting stitch.

NOTES:

The shawl is worked in sock yarn or other fingering weight yarn. The stitch patterns are given in both charted and written form.

The finished shawl measures 66 ½”/169cm wide, 21 ½”/54cm deep.
