Three of Diamonds is a great rib and cabled pattern with classic lines that appeal to men and women alike. Cabled diamonds are featured on each side of the leg and combine to form a third diamond centered on the top of the foot. A non-traditional gusset follows the lines of the cable.

This top-down pattern is written for 5 double point needles with 5 sizes to fit 7.75 - 10 inch wide feet with a custom foot length. It features a heel flap with gusset and a wedge toe. Those with experience knitting socks on two circular needles or using the magic loop method should be able to convert the pattern.

Due to the large amounts of stockinette stitch in this design, if you land between sizes it is recommended that you choose the smaller size. 20% negative ease is possible with this pattern for those that prefer snug fitting socks.

This pattern was originally designed for TheKnitter.com Luxury Sock of the Month Club for November 2008. The pattern will be available to others in February.
