This pattern is from a collection of sock patterns using Beehive yarns, which was publsihed by the Paton & Baldwin Company in 1940.

The three tone sock calls for 2 skeins each of a dark and medium color, and 1 skein of a light color. The dark and medium colors should be divided into 2 balls (or worked by using the center pull string and the outside one).
